John is an experienced global executive with a very strong background in multi-cultural business activities including start-ups, partnerships, acquisitions, and turn-arounds.
He has extensive experience as a consultant working with executive management on global expansion, strategic development and operations for high technology companies. John provides strategic and operational leadership to STS International Inc. in the area of European companies and business strategies.
Prior to joining STS, John was founder and Managing Director of Vantage Point Global Limited, where he provided strategic and communications consulting, project management, and executive services. He provided executive-level leadership training and coaching to a senior client and its contractor staff globally, held key roles on projects in various multi-cultural environments for clients such as BP, Chevron, Shell, Bechtel, Intel, Bovis Lendlease, Spie, and Agip.
John also provided board-level development of NGOs and leadership training at the European School of Management. While employed at Wireless Facilities International Ltd. as CEO - Europe, Africa and Middle East, John planned and implemented a major business penetration in the UK markets for a California-based wireless network design firm. As the sole executive representative in Europe, he started the business as a locally based engineering company, and within six months, he was awarded the first two client contracts to be awarded in a very competitive environment.
Additionally, John developed and managed major account client relationships in Turkey, Morocco, Germany, France, and the UK. Before his tenure at Wireless Facilities, John served as Director, Alliances and Contracts - Wireless Infrastructure Division, for Qualcomm, Inc. He was responsible for a major business transition that effectively changed the development and execution approach to international projects by partnering relationships with major global deployment companies in cultural diverse environments. He also reduced internal hiring requirements by 50% by bringing vendor deployment financing, cost effective deployment, and standardization of global deployments and processes that facilitated outsourcing non-strategic skills.
John's career began at Fluor Daniel Telecom, where he started as Director, International Business Development, was promoted to Executive Project Director, and served at Vice President of Marketing and Sales until he left for Qualcomm. While at Fluor Daniel, John developed a joint venture company concept, implemented the concept of using a Pioneer License to bring an offshore cellular operating enterprise to full operation, and developed turnkey telecommunications deployment operations in India, the Philippines, and Mexico.
John holds an M.B.A. in International Finance from the University of Southern California, a B.A. in Economics and Statistics from California State University in Los Angeles, and has completed the Safety Officers Graduate Program from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School Monterey in California.
